One Dead Four Injured As Metro Construction Slab Collapses In Mulund
The accident occurred due to the falling of a slab from the structure of Metro 4 under construction in Mulund, Mumbai. On Saturday (February 14), suddenly a large part of the slab fell from the under-construction structure, due to which an auto and part of a car passing below got buried under the debris.
The incident occurred at around 12:20 pm on LBS Road in front of Johnson & Johnson factory in Mulund. During the construction work, a part of the cement structure collapsed and fell directly on the moving auto and car. One person traveling in the auto died tragically and four others were injured.
Ramdhan Yadav, who came under the influence of the accident, was declared dead. The other injured have been identified as Rajkumar Yadav (45), Mahendra Pratap Yadav (52) and Deepa Ruhiya (40) who have been admitted to the hospital. Of these, the condition of Rajkumar Yadav is said to be critical. Videos obtained from the accident site show heart-wrenching scenes of the crushed car and auto. A bloodied rickshaw puller was seen being pulled out from under the debris.

Officials said, “A cement slab of the pillar fell and fell on the auto below, completely shattering the three-wheeler. Three to four people have been injured. Fire brigade personnel and policemen and Metro Rail (Line 4) construction company staff are present at the spot after the incident to monitor the works.”

After information from Mumbai fire brigade, many agencies reached the spot. Fire brigade, local police, metro officials, ward staff and 108 ambulance service were deployed for rescue and help. The injured people were immediately given first aid and shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
MMRDA has confirmed that two people have been injured and have been immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where their condition is being monitored. The Metro project team is present at the site and is engaged in relief work and securing the area in coordination with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and disaster management officials.
