Historic initiative for the security of the country, inauguration of emergency landing facility on Moran Bypass!

An atmosphere of pride and excitement was witnessed at Assam’s Moran Bypass on Saturday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the national highway. After this historic achievement, the local people called it unimaginable and a moment of pride for the area.

Sharing his reaction after the inauguration, a local resident said, “We had not even dreamed that such a big work would happen in our area. Today the Prime Minister has exceeded our expectations.”

Another person said, “Today we are proud that the Prime Minister has built this facility in our area for the security of the country.”

“We never imagined that this kind of work was possible on the road, but today we saw it with our own eyes and we feel extremely proud,” said a third person.

According to government officials, the facility has been developed in the Moran area of Dibrugarh district and is the first such emergency landing facility in the entire Northeast India. Immediately after the inauguration, the Prime Minister also watched an air show by the Indian Air Force. During this, Rafale, Sukhoi and MiG fighter aircraft demonstrated their operational capability by successfully taking-off and landing on a specially prepared highway strip.

According to officials, around one lakh people were present at the spot to witness this historic occasion. Located in the Upper Assam region, this facility is considered an important strategic strengthening for India’s military structure in the Northeast.

Moran ELF is designed to serve as an alternative landing site in case the airport is unavailable due to emergency or operational reasons. This will strengthen quick response capabilities near sensitive border areas and will provide a major boost to national security preparedness.
