Flood of faith in Babulnath temple on Mahashivratri!

The festival of Mahashivratri is considered a symbol of unwavering trust and deep faith between Lord Shiva and the devotees. On this day, special worship and Rudrabhishek is performed in Shiva temples across the country. It is believed that on the night of Mahashivratri, Lord Shiva himself listens to the calls of the devotees and accepts the prayers made with a true heart. With this belief, there was a continuous flow of devotees in the famous Babulnath temple of Mumbai on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

Speaking to IANS, a priest of the temple said, “Complete preparations had already been made for Mahashivratri. All the devotees were made to queue in a disciplined manner, so that every devotee could get darshan of Lord Shiva one by one. Separate queues were arranged especially for the elderly, women and pregnant women, so that they do not face any kind of problem. Shades were installed for the devotees standing in long queues and arrangements for drinking water were also made.”

Pujari further expressed his gratitude to the Mumbai Police and said, “We have received full cooperation from the police in security and crowd management.” The priest further said, “The Char Prahar puja held on the night of Mahashivratri has special significance. This puja will be performed from 12 o’clock in the night till 4 in the morning. It is considered extremely sacred. During this time Lord Shiva is worshiped with mantras and rituals.”

Another priest of the temple told IANS, “Every year lakhs of devotees come to Babulnath temple for darshan and seek their wishes from Lord Shiva.

The government also makes strict security arrangements in the temple premises, so that there is no chaos of any kind. It is believed that the devotee who visits Lord Shiva on the day of Mahashivratri, his wishes made with a true heart are definitely fulfilled. Due to this belief, people from far and wide reach Babulnath temple on this day.”

Apart from these, an elderly devotee said, “I come to Babulnath temple every Monday. I am very happy with the arrangements here. The temple administration has made excellent arrangements on Mahashivratri. I am 66 years old, but I am completely healthy and it is all due to the blessings of Lord Shiva. My family is also happy with the blessings of Mahakal.”

Another devotee wishing Mahashivratri said, “I have deep faith in the Babulnath temple. There was a time in my life when I was surrounded by many troubles. Then one of my friends advised me to come here and I came to this temple for darshan and prayed to Lord Shiva. After this, gradually all the troubles of my life went away. Since then, my faith in this temple became even stronger.”

Another devotee said, “I have been coming to Babulnath temple continuously since 2010. Coming here gives peace to the mind and a new energy. Here Lord Bholenath fulfills the wishes of every devotee, only the faith should be true.”

At the same time, a female devotee told that she had reached the temple for darshan at around 5 in the morning. He said, “I felt very good after coming to the temple. My devotion towards Lord Shiva is very deep.”
