Does eating fruits also increase sugar level in diabetes?
Due to lifestyle, the number of diabetic patients in the country is increasing rapidly every year, and the government is continuously making people aware to adopt a fit lifestyle for diabetes. The situation is that in every family one or the other patient of diabetes or BP is seen, and both these diseases are connected to each other. There is a general belief that the cause of diabetes is not sweet food, but wrong lifestyle and excessive stress.
Diabetic patients have to take utmost care of correct diet and quantity. Food not eaten in proper quantity also helps in increasing their problems, but this problem is also seen with fruits. According to doctors, diabetic patients should avoid naturally sweet fruits whose GI or glycemic index is more than 55. If naturally sweet fruits are consumed, it also causes increase in sugar. Now the question is what to eat and what not. Diabetic patients will have to consume fruits thoughtfully. Doctors advise patients to eat fruits regularly, but consuming fruits every day also increases the amount of acid in the stomach. In such a situation, the only cure is to eat fruits in the right portion.
Diabetic patients should consume blackberries as it is called nectar fruit for diabetes. From its kernels to its leaves, it is beneficial for diabetic patients. Consumption of blackberries supports the function of pancreas, is helpful in blood sugar control and is rich in fiber and antioxidants which also keeps the stomach clean.
The second fruit is guava. Guava is a boon for digestion and sugar control. Along with this, this magical fruit relieves constipation, improves metabolism and is rich in Vitamin C. Guava also helps in increasing the immunity of patients.
The third fruit is berries (strawberries, blueberries). Indian berries, whether amla or strawberry, are helpful for diabetic patients. They contain rich amounts of antioxidants, which help regulate blood sugar. Along with this, due to the presence of Vitamin C, it also strengthens immunity. Diabetic patients should avoid juice because juice without fiber increases the sugar level in the blood. You can drink raw turmeric and amla juice.
