Gaurav Gogoi Insulted Me In Front Of Everyone

Former Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Bora has made serious allegations against his own party before joining Bharatiya Janata Party. Bora, who is set to join the BJP on February 22, claimed that Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi insulted him publicly and despite his complaint, the party high command took no action.

Speaking to news agency ANI on Wednesday (February 18), Bora said that he has given 32 years to Congress. He said, “I gave 32 years to the Congress party. Congress made me APCC President from MLA… When I became President in 2021, Congress was in alliance with AIUDF. I broke the alliance. After that, before forming INDIA Alliance, I made alliance with 16 parties… It was decided in the by-election that one seat would go to CPI(ML), but suddenly that night, the name of a different person was announced who had never No longer a member of Congress… Gaurav Gogoi could not win that seat… A video conference was held regarding the alliance on February 9. I was asked to form the alliance again…”

In the video conference he was asked to re-strengthen the alliance. “I started the conversation. On February 11, Gogoi said I should take Rakibul Hussain along. But on February 13, he told me in front of everyone that I had created confusion. I asked why he insulted me in front of everyone, but he did not answer.” He also said that he informed Rahul Gandhi about this matter, but did not get any response.

His statements came a day after Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma met him and announced that Bora would be joining the BJP.

On the other hand, Gaurav Gogoi accused Bora of leaking confidential party information to a journalist who is allegedly close to the Chief Minister. He said that the speculations regarding Bora’s closeness to the Chief Minister are now being proved correct. Gogoi also alleged that Bora’s move to the BJP amid a campaign by the Congress over alleged land issues related to the Chief Minister’s family was a reflection of the Chief Minister’s disappointment.

Apart from this, Gogoi mentioned about an inquiry pending in the Women’s Commission against Bora and claimed that the person who was earlier questioned is now being presented as an honest Hindu leader. Before the assembly elections in Assam, this round of allegations and counter-allegations between Congress and BJP is making the politics of the state even more heated.
