22 February special campaign, opportunity to amend voter list at booths! ​

Under the special intensive revision program of the Election Commission of India in Uttar Pradesh, a special campaign day will be organized at all the polling places in the state on Sunday during the claim and objection period.

This campaign is being run with the aim of including the names of eligible citizens in the voter list and correcting the entries in the list.

State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that as per the instructions of the Commission, a total of four special campaign days have been fixed, out of which campaigns have already been organized on January 11, January 18 and January 31. The fourth and final special campaign day will be held on 22 February.

He said that on the day of the campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at every polling place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The draft voter list published on January 6 will be available with the BLO, through which voters will be able to check their names.

Also Form-6 (Addition of new name), 6A (for Indian citizens living abroad), 7 (Deletion of name) and 8 (Amendment of entry) will be available. Help desks will also be arranged at each polling station, where voters will be provided assistance in filling the forms.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that cooperation will also be taken from booth level agents, public representatives and volunteers of recognized political parties as per rules. Also, District Election Officer and Electoral Registration Officer will be on tour to monitor the campaign.
