Ben Gurion Airport is located approximately 20 kilometers south-east of Tel Aviv. It was here that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed Prime Minister Modi with a warm embrace. After this he was given formal honour. This welcome is being considered a symbol of the strengthening relations between the two countries.
The outline of the visit agenda was shared by the Israel Prime Minister’s Office. “The two leaders will sign a number of agreements between Israel and India in the economic, security and diplomatic fields, which will enhance cooperation between the two countries. After the signing, the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of India will give a joint statement to the media,” it said. It is clear from this that many important agreements are likely to be signed during the high level talks, which will further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Since the historic visit in 2017, India and Israel relations have grown rapidly in areas such as defence, agriculture, water management, technology and innovation. The current visit is being considered an important step towards further expanding this strategic partnership. This visit of Prime Minister Modi is taking place at a time when geopolitical equations are changing rapidly at the global level. In such a situation, strengthening India-Israel relations is of strategic importance for both the countries.
The picture of the concrete results of this visit will become more clear after the joint statement of the two leaders and the signed agreements. At present, the grand welcome received in Tel Aviv is an indication that both the countries are committed to taking mutual cooperation to new heights.
