Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Vow To Avenge Khamenei’s Death Warn Of Most Fierce Military Operation
After confirming the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in US-Israel air strikes, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to Israel and US military bases in the Gulf region. The Guards have said reprisals could begin at any moment and would be the most aggressive military operation yet.
Strong warning from IRGC
“The most dangerous attack in the history of Iran’s military will begin within moments, targeting occupied territories and US terrorist bases,” the IRGC said in a statement posted on Telegram.
The IRGC said the retaliatory action would not be symbolic but decisive. US military bases in several countries in the Gulf region have been put on high alert following Iranian missile and drone attacks in recent days.

In a strongly worded statement, the IRGC said the Iranian nation’s ‘hand of revenge’ would deliver “a severe, decisive and regrettable punishment” to those responsible. The IRGC described Khamenei as the “Imam of the Ummah” in the statement and sought to portray the upcoming response as a national and religious obligation.
Tension increased after Trump’s announcement
Iranian state television confirmed Khamenei’s death hours after US President Donald Trump’s public announcement. “Khamenei, one of the worst people in history, has been killed. And it’s the people of Iran who have got justice,” Trump said, calling the 86-year-old Islamic ruler one of the worst people in history.
He further said that “this is justice for all the great Americans and people of many countries around the world who have been killed or maimed by Khamenei and his bloodthirsty henchmen.” Trump claimed that Khamenei “couldn’t escape our intelligence and very advanced tracking systems, working in concert with Israel, there was nothing he or the other leaders killed with him could do.”
Trump also said, “We are hearing that many of their IRGC, military, and other security and police forces no longer want to fight, and want immunity from us. They may get immunity now, but later they will only get death! Not only Khamenei’s death, but the country as well, in just one day, has been devastated and even destroyed.”
Iran’s Fars News Agency reported on Sunday (01 March) that four of Khamenei’s family members, including his daughter, a grandson and son-in-law, also died in the attacks. Fears of a wider conflict across West Asia have risen amid warnings from Tehran of unprecedented retaliation. Military activities have intensified in the region and the international community is worried about a possible major conflict.
