No sign of any major damage so far from airstrike in Iran: IAEA Chief!

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi has claimed that there is currently no indication of damage to any of Iran’s nuclear facilities in the joint US-Israeli attacks.

The IAEA chief clarified that there are currently no reports of attacks or damage on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the Tehran Research Reactor and other fuel facilities. So far, radiation levels in Iran’s neighboring countries have been found to be normal, which is a matter of relief.

Grossi said that IEC is continuously trying to contact Iranian authorities, but due to the war, there is no response from there.

“Efforts to contact Iranian nuclear regulatory authorities are continuing, but no response has been received so far. We hope that this essential channel of dialogue will reopen as soon as possible,” Grossi said, opening a special session on Iran of the IAEA Board of Governors.

Rafael Grossi has warned the world and recommended exercising ‘maximum restraint’. He warned that if there is an attack on any nuclear center, large cities will have to be evacuated due to radioactive leakage, which can create a serious situation.

Grossi said the situation in the Middle East is “very worrying”, and he appealed for “complete restraint” following the Israeli-US attacks on Iran and its retaliatory missile attacks.

According to Grossi, “I reiterate my appeal to all parties to exercise utmost restraint to prevent further escalation of tensions.” Grossi stressed that it was necessary to stop military action and immediately return to diplomacy and negotiations.

It is clear that the nuclear agency is currently trying to close the ‘communication gap’ so that any ‘nuclear disaster’ can be avoided in time.
