I Spoke To My Friend Modi
Amid rising tensions in the Middle East following Iran’s missile attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that he recently had a detailed conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked India for standing firmly with Israel during the crisis.
Speaking to the media on Monday (March 2), Netanyahu described Modi as a “great friend”. The comments came while he was on a visit to Beit Shemesh, the central Israeli city where an Iranian missile strike hit a synagogue. The attack killed nine people and caused widespread damage.
“I spoke to our very good friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I spoke to him at length yesterday and thanked him for standing with Israel, for standing up for the truth and for the deep friendship of the people of India,” Netanyahu said, surrounded by security personnel amid the debris at the site of the attack.
Benjamin Netanyahu (PM of Israel):

He also said that Israel has deep admiration for the people of India. Although he did not share details of the talks, he confirmed that he was also in touch with other global leaders amid the regional situation.
Netanyahu’s comments underline the strategic ties that have strengthened over the past decade between India and Israel. Both countries maintain close cooperation in areas such as defence, technology, agriculture and trade. Both the governments have been continuously emphasizing on partnership regarding security and anti-terrorism cooperation.
The two leaders are also considered to have close relations at the personal level, which has taken bilateral relations to new heights.
Earlier in the day, Netanyahu said that the joint military operation being conducted by Israel and the US against Iran could also create conditions for political change within Iran.
Standing at the site of the attack, he signaled that the time may be near for the Iranian people to challenge their leadership system. He said, “That day is coming near. When it comes, Israel and the United States will be there with the Iranian people, the final decision will depend on the will of the Iranian people.”
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump had also called on the Iranians to take back their country.
