He said that a WhatsApp helpline has been set up to provide genuine assistance. Minister Girish Mahajan is in direct contact with the stranded people through video calls and is taking stock of their situation. The state government is cooperating with the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian embassies.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding safety measures have been issued to citizens. Local ‘Marathi Mandals’ and other Indian community organizations in the Gulf countries have been activated to provide grassroots level support, including food and shelter.
The Chief Minister spoke about the specific issues in Kuwait where transit passengers are facing visa related problems. Efforts are on to provide them temporary accommodation and essential commodities.
