Huge advance booking of ‘Dhurandhar 2’; More than 1.2 lakh tickets sold in first 24 hours

Director Aditya Dhar’s much-awaited film Dhurandhar: The Revenge (commonly known as ‘Dhurandhar 2’) has taken a strong start at the box office even before its release. As soon as the advance booking for the paid preview of the film opened, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the audience. According to initial figures, the film has sold more than 1.2 lakh tickets for paid previews and has registered a gross earning of more than Rs 13 crore.

According to trade tracking website, around 1.2 lakh tickets have been sold across the country for the preview shows of the film. This has generated gross earnings of around Rs 7.74 crore, which does not include block booking. If block booking is added, the total gross collection reaches approximately Rs 13.55 crore. Paid previews of the film will be held on March 18, while its official theatrical release is scheduled for March 19, 2026.

The ticket sales of the film increased at a rapid pace in the first 24 hours of booking opening. According to reports, more than 1.2 lakh tickets were sold during this period alone. The biggest contribution among these was the Hindi 2D version, which earned around Rs 7.65 crore from around 1.11 lakh tickets. This booking was recorded in more than 6,400 shows across the country. Bookings have also started for the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions of the film, which clearly shows preparations for its pan-India release.

Tickets worth Rs 4 crore sold in two hours

As soon as the advance booking started, there was huge enthusiasm among the audience. According to reports, around 35,000 tickets were sold in the first two hours, worth around Rs 4 crore. These tickets were purchased at major multiplex chains such as PVR INOX and Cinepolis.

The pace of booking for the film was also brisk on online ticketing platform Book My Show, where around 7,500 tickets were booked per hour. Ticket prices for premium preview shows in some multiplexes are said to be as high as Rs 2,500, especially in Delhi-NCR.

Strong script, excellent direction and brilliant acting by veteran actors made this film one of the famous films of Bollywood. Now the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the sequel of the 2025 hit film Dhurandhar, whose story is based on espionage and action thriller. Will also be seen in important roles.

Releasing on March 19, the film will hit the theaters around festivals like Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Eid, which is expected to further boost the opening collection.

Trade analysts believe that the film’s current trend of advance booking and paid previews can give it a strong opening. Trade analyst and producer Girish Johar has estimated that the film’s opening weekend collection could exceed Rs 300 crore. Now it will be interesting to see whether ‘Dhurandhar 2’ can convert its strong advance booking into a record-breaking opening at the box office or not.
