India Became The T20 World Cup Champion For The Third Time Pm Modi Congratulated Team India

The Indian cricket team created history by winning the title of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. In the final match, India registered a spectacular victory by defeating the New Zealand cricket team by 96 runs. With this victory, India became the first team to defend the T20 World Cup title and also made a record of winning the trophy for the third time.

This match was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where India, batting first, scored 255 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. This is the biggest score so far in the history of T20 World Cup final.

For India, Sanju Samson played a brilliant inning of 89 runs and put the team in a strong position. Whereas Abhishek Sharma scored the fastest half-century of the tournament by scoring a half-century in just 18 balls.

Apart from this, Ishan Kishan scored 54 runs in 25 balls, while Shivam Dubey played a quick inning of 26 runs in 8 balls, taking the score beyond 250.

Chasing the target of 255 runs, the New Zealand team could not stand against the Indian bowlers and were reduced to 159 runs in 19 overs.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah broke the back of the opposition batting by taking four wickets, while Aksar Patel took three wickets.

President Draupadi Murmu described this victory as a symbol of the young talent of the country and congratulated every player and support staff of the team.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote, “What a victory…!! Salute to the World Champion #TeamIndia. Your brilliant performance and enthusiasm throughout the tournament has brought glory and pride to the nation.”

With this victory, India once again proved its dominance in T20 cricket and gave cricket fans a big opportunity to celebrate by winning the World Cup on home soil.
