New Zealand gave ‘World Cup’ as a gift, Mohammad Aamir is not able to digest India’s victory!

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has described India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2026 as a gift given by New Zealand and has raised questions on the strategy of the Kiwi team. Aamir criticized the decisions of New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner and said that due to his wrong decisions India won the World Cup.

Mohammad Amir said on a Pakistani TV show, “I did not understand the changes made in New Zealand’s bowling. Even when the team knew that Abhishek Sharma was struggling against spin, spin was not used much.”

Aamir said that he has followed the New Zealand team since 2005, but for the first time he saw the team playing under so much pressure. Pakistani bowlers believed that India proved in this match that not only bowlers but also batsmen can win big tournaments.

Aamir had predicted India not reaching the semi-finals and final, but India not only reached the final by defeating England in the semi-finals, but also won the title by defeating New Zealand by a huge margin of 96 runs in the final. After India’s victory, Aamir is facing criticism from Indian cricket fans on social media.

In the match, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the Indian team scored 255 runs for 5 wickets with the help of Sanju Samson’s 89 runs, Abhishek Sharma’s 52 runs, Ishan Kishan’s 54 runs and Shivam Dubey’s 26 runs.

New Zealand, setting out to achieve the target of 256 runs, was reduced to 159 runs in 19 overs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs, and Axar Patel took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 3 overs. Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakraborty and Abhishek Sharma got 1 wicket each.

Sanju Samson was the player of the series. Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged player of the match.
