Bengaluru Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Supports Closure Of Hotels

Hotels and restaurants will remain closed in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru on Tuesday (March 10). The strike has been called by the Bengaluru Hotel Association in protest against disruption in the supply of commercial LPG cylinders and increase in prices. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also supported the bandh and said that the increase in the prices of commercial gas cylinders by the Central Government has put the hotel industry in a difficult situation.

Bengaluru Hotel Association says that the supply of commercial gas cylinders has been suddenly stopped from Monday, due to which the hotel business has been seriously affected. Honorary President of the Association P.C. Rao told the media that oil companies claim that there will be no interruption in gas supply for the next 70 days, but suddenly stopping the supply has proved to be a big blow to the hotel industry.

P.C. “We appeal to the Union Ministry to intervene and fix the disruption in commercial gas cylinder supply,” Rao said. He said that due to stoppage of supply of gas cylinders, it has been decided to keep the hotels of Bengaluru closed on Tuesday.

He also said that hotels come under essential services and due to their closure, common people may face problems. Senior citizens, students, and people involved in various medical services who regularly depend on hotels will be affected by this closure.

Whereas Chief Minister Siddaramaiah justified the demands of the Hotel Association and said that the prices of commercial gas cylinders have been increased by ₹ 115 by the Central Government, which has put additional economic pressure on the hotel business. “The central government has increased the price of commercial gas cylinder by ₹115. This has put the hotel industry in trouble and it is right that they have called for a bandh tomorrow,” he said.

People associated with the hotel industry say that due to the continuous increase in gas prices and uncertainty in supply, it is becoming difficult for them to operate. The association has demanded immediate intervention from the Central Government to restore the supply and find a solution to the price issue. Hotel and restaurant services in Bengaluru are likely to be affected for a day due to this bandh, which may cause inconvenience to people dependent on daily life and eating out in the city.

Let us tell you that due to the joint war waged by America and Israel against Iran in Western Asia, the global fuel supply chain has been fragmented. Iran’s attack on Gulf countries has affected global fuel production. Iranian forces have blocked more than 20 percent of the world’s fuel supplies, leading to a surge in gas and crude oil prices around the world.
