Big agreement with Indian company Hikal for control system of Rafale aircraft

France’s leading aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation has signed an important agreement with Bengaluru-based Indian aerospace company Hikal Technologies. Under this agreement, Hikal Technologies will now manufacture important components for the control system of the Rafale fighter aircraft. This is being considered an important achievement for the Indian aerospace manufacturing sector.

Dassault Rafale is counted among the most modern multirole fighter aircraft in the world. Its two-seater version Rafale B is capable of carrying out a variety of missions such as air superiority, ground attack and reconnaissance missions.

State-of-the-art flight control systems play a vital role in the operation of this aircraft, ensuring precise performance even under extreme pressure and difficult conditions. Under the contract, Hikal Technologies will manufacture critical components associated with these systems, which will be designed in accordance with Dassault Aviation’s rigorous engineering and quality standards.

Senior Dassault official praised:

Bruno Coiffier, Senior Executive Vice President of Procurement and Purchasing at Dassault Aviation, praised the partnership, saying, “Hickel Technologies has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and reliability—values that perfectly match Dassault Aviation’s outstanding heritage.”

The company told about the historic occasion:

Yashas Jaiveer, Managing Director of Hikal Technologies, described the agreement as an important milestone for the company. He said, “This is a testament to years of investment in engineering. Being responsible for the critical products for Rafale, one of the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, is a recognition that Indian aerospace manufacturing has come to the global stage.”

This agreement is also considered important for India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. India is currently the world’s second largest arms importer and its share in global arms imports between 2021 and 2025 has been about 8.2 percent. In such a situation, increasing the participation of domestic industry in the manufacturing of defense equipment is one of the main priorities of the government.

Hikal Technologies has already supplied satellite, missile and avionics related components. The Bengaluru-based company’s advanced production facilities, automated assembly and rigorous testing processes enable it to manufacture high reliability defense products.

Experts believe that this contract will further strengthen the aerospace cooperation between India and France and the role of Indian companies in the development of next generation fighter aircraft and advanced defense technologies can further increase in the future.
