Morbi ceramic industry on the verge of closure due to gas crisis: Manojbhai!
The gas and oil crisis due to the ongoing conflict between America, Israel and Iran has affected the world economy. Morbi ceramic industry is on the verge of closure due to gas crisis. Ceramic Association President Manojbhai said that till now 100 units have been closed and in the coming days all the units using propane gas will have to be closed. There is also uncertainty in the supply of natural gas. The ceramic industry produces continuously and if the gas supply stops, the factory will have to be closed.
A day earlier, on March 9, the opposition demanded a discussion with the government regarding rising tensions in the Middle East, energy security and rising fuel prices. Many opposition parties, including Congress and Samajwadi Party, said that this issue is directly affecting the common people of the country and the economy of India, hence a serious debate on this is necessary in the Parliament.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, while targeting the government, had said that in view of the seriousness of the current situation and its impact on the entire region, it is very important to discuss this issue in Parliament.
He said that Congress has presented an adjournment motion on this issue, so that it can be discussed immediately in the House. The party has also brought an impeachment motion against the Lok Sabha, but at present the most important issue is its impact on the common people of the country.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor had also termed this issue as serious and said that the basic purpose of Parliament is to discuss important issues related to the country. If such matters are not discussed in Parliament, then what will be the importance of Parliament? Tharoor had said that India’s energy security is being affected due to tension in the Middle East.
Shashi Tharoor said that the price of crude oil in the international market has reached above $ 100 per barrel and the supply of gas from Qatar has also stopped because ‘force majeure’ has been declared there. Right now gas is not coming to our factories from that side. You can get it from the East, so we’ll try to get some supplies, but we’re definitely in trouble.
