Do you feel lethargy and tiredness throughout the day? Include these things in your diet

According to the National Health Mission, by supplementing iron through proper diet, this problem can be easily overcome and one can feel fresh throughout the day. Healthy life starts with proper nutrition. Iron plays an important role in providing oxygen to the body. When iron is low, the amount of hemoglobin in the blood decreases, due to which complaints like fatigue, lethargy, dizziness and weakness increase. Especially women, children and youth are more affected by this problem.

The good thing is that you can overcome iron deficiency by including some simple things in your everyday diet. For this, include jaggery, sesame, green leafy vegetables, gram, black lentils, peanuts etc. in the diet.

Including these food items in the daily diet improves the iron level in the body, purifies the blood and maintains energy. Experts recommend taking iron-rich foods along with Vitamin C-rich fruits like lemon, orange, amla, because Vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron. By eating right, you can remain active and healthy throughout the day.

Jaggery is the best and cheapest source of iron. Eating a small piece of jaggery daily provides a good amount of iron to the body. Eating it with gram or peanuts further increases the benefits. Black gram, masoor dal, urad dal and kidney beans are rich in iron. Include these in your diet regularly.

Vegetables like spinach, fenugreek, mustard greens and bathua are rich in iron. They can be eaten as salad, vegetables or greens. Peanuts are not only delicious but are also a good source of iron. Take roasted peanuts or peanut chutney in small quantities daily.

Sesame seeds also contain good amount of iron. It can be eaten by mixing it in chutney, laddu or salad. By consuming it, the body gets many benefits including energy.
