Congress Trying To Gain Political Mileage During Conflict In West Asia This Is Unfortunate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (March 11) assured the countrymen that the government is providing all possible help to Indians stranded in Gulf countries. Along with this, he strongly criticized Congress for doing politics on the issue of war. Addressing a pre-poll event in Kerala, the Prime Minister said Congress was making provocative and irresponsible statements, which could make the situation of Indians living abroad more difficult. He said that India’s missions and embassies in the Gulf countries are helping citizens 24 hours a day and friendly governments in the region are also taking care of Indians.

Prime Minister Modi said, “Concern is natural considering the situation in the Gulf region. Lakhs of our brothers and sisters work there. But it should be remembered that the BJP-NDA government is in power. Whenever our citizens are stranded in another country, we put in all our strength to help them. Today’s India does not leave its citizens alone in times of crisis. We are still making every possible effort for the safety and all possible assistance to the Indians trapped in this conflict.”

Referring to the current situation in West Asia, the Prime Minister also raised questions on the political allegations being made by the opposition. He said that Congress is trying to do politics even during a big global crisis like this. Modi alleged that Congress was deliberately making provocative statements to worsen the situation and put the Indians present there in trouble. “It is extremely unfortunate that Congress is trying to take political advantage during this crisis,” he said.

The Prime Minister further alleged that Congress is making statements to increase tension so that Indians remain trapped in this situation and later a political campaign can be launched against them. He sarcastically said that after this some people will start a campaign of making videos and reels abusing Modi on social media.

Prime Minister Modi also said that expansion of the petroleum sector is very important to create a self-reliant India and strengthen the Make in India campaign. For this purpose, the foundation stone of Polypropylene Unit has been laid in Kochi Refinery. He said, “The ongoing war in the Gulf countries has once again made us understand the importance of self-reliance. During the Covid crisis and the Russia-Ukraine war, we saw how important it is to be self-reliant, and the current crisis has proved it again.”

The Prime Minister said that India is being appreciated globally due to its large-scale investment in modern infrastructure. He said that a record amount has been provisioned for infrastructure development in this year’s Union Budget. Kerala is also benefiting greatly from the efforts of the Central Government to expand infrastructure.
