No-confidence motion against Speaker Om Birla rejected amid uproar in Lok Sabha!

The no-confidence motion brought against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was rejected on Wednesday. The no-confidence motion brought against the Speaker was rejected in the House by voice vote.

After the address of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the ‘no-confidence motion against the Speaker’ was rejected by voice vote. However, considering the numerical strength, it was already decided that this no-confidence motion would be rejected.

Let us tell you that after almost four decades, a no-confidence motion came before the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. According to the information, 10 hours were fixed for discussion on the no-confidence motion, but the discussion took place more than the time. There was discussion in the House for about 13 hours from the opposition and the parties and more than 42 MPs participated in it.

Last month in February, a no-confidence motion was brought by the opposition against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. At the same time, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had decided not to participate in the proceedings of the House until the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition is discussed and decided.

Let us tell you that the opposition parties had alleged that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is not conducting the proceedings of the House in an impartial manner and is showing inclination in favor of the ruling party.

Opposition parties had submitted a notice of no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla under Article 94 (C) of the Constitution.

This proposal had signatures of opposition MPs. Along with Congress, many opposition parties including Samajwadi Party and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) had supported it, which has now been rejected by voice vote.

In the notice of no-confidence motion, the opposition MPs had alleged that the Speaker of the Lok Sabha has repeatedly not given them the opportunity to raise important issues related to public interest in the House, due to which they had to take the step of bringing a no-confidence motion against the Speaker.
