CBI again interrogated Jai Anmol Ambani in Rs 228 crore fraud case!
This inquiry has been done in the alleged bank fraud case of Rs 228 crore related to Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL). The names of many others including the company’s former CEO and former whole-time director Ravindra Sudhalkar are also included in this case. Jai Anmol Ambani is also among the accused in the case. However, there has been no immediate response from the company in this regard.
CBI had also interrogated Anil Ambani’s son on Friday.
According to the investigating agency, Jai Anmol Ambani was interrogated at the CBI headquarters in Delhi. Officials said that he was questioned in detail on various aspects related to the case and he was asked to remain present on Saturday also for further investigation.
CBI had earlier also conducted a search operation at the residence of Jai Anmol Ambani in Mumbai after registering an FIR in this case on December 9, 2025. This action was taken on the basis of a complaint by Union Bank of India (formerly Andhra Bank). The bank had alleged that the company did not repay the loan taken from the bank, due to which the account turned into non-performing asset (NPA) in the year 2019.
At the same time, on December 6, 2025, CBI registered a case in this bank fraud case. Reliance Home Finance Limited, Jai Anmol Ambani, Ravindra Sudhalkar and some unknown persons and unknown government officials have also been made accused in this case. The investigating agency has alleged that Union Bank of India suffered a loss of about Rs 228.06 crore through criminal conspiracy, fraud and criminal misconduct.
During investigation, it has also come to light that Reliance Home Finance Limited had taken a total loan of about Rs 5,572.35 crore from 18 banks, financial institutions, NBFCs and corporate entities, which also includes Union Bank of India. It is alleged that the company took the loan by misleading these institutions and later did not make the payment. Detailed investigation of this entire matter is going on.
The CBI had raided two official premises of Reliance Home Finance Limited in Mumbai, the residence of Jai Anmol Ambani and the residence of the then company director Ravindra Sudhalkar, on December 9, 2025, after obtaining a search warrant from the special CBI court in Mumbai in this case. During this period, the investigating agency had found many important documents, which have been seized for investigation.
