Conspiracy of serial bomb blasts foiled in three states; Three suspects arrested with RDX and IED
The security agencies have achieved a major success and foiled the conspiracy of terrorists linked to Pakistan. The terrorists had planned to carry out serial blasts in Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. In this case, the Special Task Force (STF) has arrested three suspected terrorists and recovered about 2 kg of RDX and an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from them.
According to the agencies, the accused were carrying explosive material hidden in a tiffin bomb while riding a bike. After presenting the arrested accused in the court, they have been sent on police remand for seven days so that they can be interrogated in detail.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were working on the instructions of terrorist operator Shahzad Bhatti based in Pakistan. Their plan was to carry out blasts in different areas of Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan.
Investigation revealed that the first blast as part of the conspiracy was to be carried out in Hanumangarhi area of Rajasthan. The accused had also planted an IED there, but the blast could not be carried out due to delay in the supply of RDX from Pakistan. After waiting for four days, they removed the IED from there.
After this the accused conducted recce of various places in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi for about a week. They made videos of these places and sent them to their handlers in Pakistan through WhatsApp, so that the final target for the blast could be decided.
One of the arrested accused, Ali Akbar alias Babu, is said to be the main operative of this network in India. He is a resident of Longia area of Ajmer, Rajasthan. According to the investigating agencies, he conducted recce of many sensitive places in Rajasthan, Delhi and Punjab and sent its videos to Pakistan.
As part of the terrorist conspiracy, attacks were planned at several possible places. These included places like Shri Mata Balasundari Devi Temple in Mullana, a politician’s house in Ambala, some police stations in Punjab, Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and Nizamuddin Railway Station.
Ultimately, handler Shahzad Bhatti had selected three places in Ambala as possible targets, at any one of which the blast was to be carried out. The accused told that on the morning of March 13, 2026, they had received instructions to plant a bomb in Ambala Cantt area.
However, security agencies had already received intelligence about their activities. When the accused were going towards the designated place with explosives, the STF caught them on the way. Later the bomb disposal squad safely defused the tiffin bomb.
The agencies also said that the RDX which could not be supplied to Hanumangarhi has not been traced yet. For this reason, security agencies have appealed to the citizens to remain alert and immediately inform the administration if any suspicious object is seen.
