“It is a Pakistani film, so why was it not shown to the people of Pakistan?” Abu Azmi expressed displeasure on ‘Dhurandhar 2’
The controversy regarding the film Dhurandhar 2 directed by Aditya Dhar is deepening. Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi has launched a scathing attack on the film, calling it a false film and a medium to spread hatred. He raised questions as to why a Pakistan-based story was being presented to the Indian audience.
Speaking to the news agency, Abu Azmi said, “This film has been made only to spread hatred, it is a false film. It is a Pakistani film, so why was it not shown to the people of Pakistan? Why was it shown to the people of India?”
Azmi alleged that an attempt has been made to defame the Muslim community in the film. According to him, the image of the entire community is being maligned by showing a few criminals in the film, while broader social realities have been ignored.
Earlier, another Samajwadi Party MLA Raees Shaikh had also criticized the film. He wrote on social media platform This is not art, this is an agenda. He also accused him of making cinema a medium of propaganda.

Waris Pathan also said that the aim of films should be knowledge and entertainment, but some producers are working to spread negativity for profit.
Despite the growing controversy, the film is performing strongly at the box office. It crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on the very first day of its release and till now the total earning has reached Rs 145.55 crore (in all languages).
Apart from Ranveer Singh, this spy action thriller film also stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi Sara Arjun also stars in lead roles. The story of the film revolves around an Indian detective who makes his mark in the crime world. Overall, while on one hand ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is moving towards success at the box office, on the other hand the political and social debate regarding its content is intensifying.
