Mathura Cow Vigilantes Block Delhi Agra Highway After The Death Of Farsa Wale Baba

After the death of cow protector Chandrashekhar Maharaj alias Farsa Wale Baba in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, cow protectors blocked the Delhi-Agra highway on Saturday (21 March). As per the information so far, he died in a road accident after being hit by a truck.

The incident occurred at around 4 am in the Kosi police station area. After the incident, a large number of his supporters came out on the streets and blocked the Delhi-Agra highway. During this period, stone pelting took place at many places and glass panes of vehicles were broken, which created a tense situation in the area.

Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance and directed the officials to take strict action. Police had to use tear gas shells to control the crowd, while several police vehicles were also damaged.

According to reports, ‘Farsa Wale Baba’ had allegedly received information about cow smuggling in a truck. He tried to stop that vehicle on the highway. Meanwhile, another truck hit him in Navipur area, due to which he died on the spot.

After his death, his supporters refused to accept it as an accident and accused him of planned murder and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. Thousands of people blocked the highway near the Umbrella area, causing a traffic jam several kilometers long.

However, Uttar Pradesh Police has issued a separate statement regarding the matter. According to the police, “Due to dense fog, another truck coming on the road hit him, resulting in his death on the spot. The truck he had stopped was carrying only groceries.…The truck that collided was also damaged and its driver is injured. He and his helper are residents of Alwar and are undergoing treatment.”

According to the police. There has been no confirmation regarding cow smuggling in the case. Also, the people protesting on the highway have been removed and the situation has been brought under control. The administration has said that further legal action is underway.
