Air Force Personnel Arrested On Espionage Charges Accused Of Passing Sensitive Information To Pakistan
A sensational incident related to the security of the Air Force has come to light. A civil employee attached to the Indian Air Force has been arrested on charges of espionage. It is alleged that he shared sensitive military information with Pakistani handlers, raising fears of the revelation of a large espionage network.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sumit Kumar, who was working as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) at Air Force Station Chabua in Dibrugarh district of Assam. Kumar, originally a resident of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, was detained from Jaipur in a joint operation by Rajasthan Intelligence and Air Force Intelligence.
In a major action, Rajasthan Intelligence has arrested Sumit Kumar, an employee posted at the Air Force station, on charges of espionage.

According to Rajasthan Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Prafulla Kumar, this case is linked to another arrest made in January 2026. At that time, Jaisalmer resident Jhabra Ram was arrested, based on the revelations that came during his interrogation, the investigating agencies reached Sumit Kumar.

Investigation has revealed that Sumit Kumar was in contact with Pakistani intelligence agencies since the year 2023 and was sharing confidential information in exchange for money. According to the allegations, he shared sensitive information related to important Indian Air Force bases, Air Force Station Chabua and Air Force Station Nal. These are said to include information related to the location of fighter planes, missile systems and deployed personnel.
According to the investigating agencies, the accused kept sending this information using social media platforms. Not only this, he also allegedly helped in creating accounts for Pakistani handlers through mobile numbers taken in his name. A case has been registered in the Special Police Station of Jaipur under various sections of the Official Secrets Act, 1923 and the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023. The accused was formally arrested on 22 March 2026.
