10 Smugglers Arrested For Smuggling Weapons From Pakistan Nepal And Bangladesh

In a major action, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a big arms smuggling gang operating at the international level from the Vaulted City area. This gang was smuggling weapons from Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh and supplying them to criminal gangs of other states including Delhi. In this case, 10 smugglers have been arrested and 21 high quality foreign weapons have been recovered. Apart from this, about 200 live cartridges have also been seized by the police.

According to the police, the seized weapons include sophisticated sub-machine guns and semi-automatic pistols. These include weapons such as the PX-5.7 and PX-3, which are used by special forces and internationally respectively. Apart from this, weapons of famous companies like Stoerger (Turkey), Shadow CZ (Czech Republic), Beretta (Italy), Taurus (Brazil) and Walter (Germany) have also been recovered.

Senior Delhi Police officials said that this smuggling network was organized and operating at the international level. These weapons were brought to India from Pakistan through the India-Nepal border and then delivered to local criminal gangs. These weapons were used to commit crimes in Delhi.

The arrested smugglers admitted during interrogation that they were part of this network for a long time and they had a complete logistics system for the purchase and sale of weapons. Police say that this action has dealt a major blow to arms smuggling in Delhi and surrounding areas. Calling it a successful operation of international level, the Crime Branch has said that strict action will be continued against such gangs in future also.
