People’s fortunes are changing with PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme: PM Modi

While talking on ‘PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’ in the 132nd episode of “Mann Ki Baat”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only inspired people to install solar energy but also explained its benefits. Along with this, he also talked about employment and earning from solar energy.

The Prime Minister said, “Today, if you go to any small or big city in the country, you will definitely notice a change. You will see a large number of houses having solar panels installed on their roofs. Till a few years ago, this was visible only on a few houses. But today, the impact of ‘PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’ is visible in every corner of the country. Because of this scheme, there has been a huge change in the life of Payal Munjpara of Surendranagar district of Gujarat. She has got solar panels through Surya Initiative. After completing a 4-month solar PV technician course, she is making her mark as a solar entrepreneur and earns thousands of rupees every month.

PM Modi further said, “Arun Kumar of Meerut has also become an energy donor in his area. Recently, Arun Kumar participated in the program held in Delhi and shared his experiences. He told that he is not only saving electricity bill, but is also selling his excess electricity. The success of Muralidhar ji of Jaipur is also similar. Earlier, his farming was dependent on diesel pumps, which cost thousands of rupees every year. When he adopted solar pump, his farming got better.” The method has changed. Now they do not have to worry about fuel, irrigation is done on time, and their annual income has also increased. The most important thing is that now their family is living a better life with clean energy.”

The Prime Minister said, the benefits of ‘PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’ are being availed in the North East areas also. There were many villages of Reang tribe in Tripura where there was problem of electricity. Now the houses there get electricity through solar mini grid. Children there are now able to study even after the evening. People are able to charge their mobiles and the social life of the village has also changed. There are many such examples of solar energy revolution in the country. You too join this revolution and join others too.”
