A case of rape of a nurse of a private hospital has come to light in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. In this case, Dr. Zaid Warsi, brother-in-law of Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rehman Burke, has been accused of rape, blackmailing and forced abortion. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered an FIR against Dr. Zaid Warsi and his father Mohammad Aslam.
The victim is a resident of Kundarki police station area of Moradabad district. Due to weak financial condition of the family, he started working at ‘Bismillah’ Hospital located in Chaudhary Sarai, Sambhal in December 2022. During this period, Dr. Zaid Warsi gave him a room to live on the upper floor of the hospital. The victim alleges that “On December 15, 2022, when she fell ill, Dr. Warsi came to her room and gave her medicine, which was laced with intoxicants. After taking the medicine, she became unconscious, during which the accused made objectionable photos and videos of her.”
The next day, after showing these photos and videos, she was blackmailed and raped several times under the threat of being fired from the job and making the video viral.
The victim also alleged that “when she became pregnant, the accused forcibly forced her to undergo an abortion.” Moreover, she was continuously exploited by taking her to cities like Nainital, Haldwani, Bareilly and Rampur.
On August 19 last year, she left the job and started working in Moradabad, but it is alleged that even after this she was continued to be exploited by blackmailing. According to the complaint, on October 2 last year, the accused again called her to Sambhal, raped her and forcibly fed her contraceptive pills. Due to continuous physical and mental harassment his condition started deteriorating. Ultimately he told the entire incident to his mother. Mother and daughter went to the police station and lodged a written complaint.
Station in-charge Gajendra Singh said, “Based on the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway. Necessary action will be taken based on the evidence.”
