Man Arrested For Sending Over 1000 Fake Bomb Threats
Delhi Police has got great success in arresting the accused who created a stir by sending fake threatening messages to many organizations across the country. Police have arrested a 47-year-old man from Mysore, Karnataka. The accused has been identified as Srinivas Lewis. It is alleged that he had sent more than 1,000 fake threatening messages to several organizations.
Delhi Police arrested Lewis from his rented house in Mysore. Delhi Police and local police jointly took this action. At present, the accused is being interrogated thoroughly and the real reason behind these fake threats is being ascertained.
For the last few weeks, many big institutions, courts and government offices of the country were continuously receiving threatening messages, due to which there was panic among the security agencies. Serious threats like bomb blasts were given in these messages. Delhi High Court, Delhi Assembly and many educational institutions were also its target. Every time such messages were received, security arrangements were tightened, investigation was started and an atmosphere of fear was created among the people.
However, after investigation it became clear that all these messages were fake. But by then a lot of time and resources of the police and security agencies had been spent. For this reason, taking this matter seriously, the search for the accused was started.
According to the police, with the help of technical surveillance and digital tracking, the accused was traced to Srinivas Lewis. His activities were being monitored for some time and he was finally arrested. At present the police is interrogating him and taking further action. Officials say that why the accused sent fake threat messages on such a large scale is being investigated. Investigation is going on whether there are personal reasons behind this or some other motive.
