This is Modi government, will deal strictly with those taking up arms: Amit Shah!

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the Lok Sabha during the ongoing discussion on efforts to free the country from left-wing extremism. Amit Shah said that first of all, I would like to thank the House on behalf of the entire area known as Red Corridor, which included 12 states and 70 percent of the land area, and the population living in it.

The Home Minister said that today Naxalism has almost ended from Bastar. There was a campaign to build schools in every village within Bastar. There was a campaign to open ration shops in every village within Bastar. All I want to ask is that those who are saying that why have the tribals not developed till now? So, he himself should tell what he did for 70 years?

He said that after Narendra Modi government came in 2014, every poor person in the country got a house, gas, pure drinking water, health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh, 5 kg free food grains per person per month… But, why were these people of Bastar left out?

Amit Shah said that I am saying this because the truth is being denied. These people of Bastar were left out because there was the shadow of red terror there, hence development did not reach there. Today, that shadow has gone away under the Modi government, and that is why Bastar is developing today. This is Narendra Modi’s government, whoever takes up arms will have his accounts settled.

He said, “I want to ask that out of 75 years, you ruled for 60 years, why were the tribals still deprived of development? Now Narendra Modi is developing the tribals.

He said that for 60 years you (Congress) did not give them houses, did not provide water, did not build schools, did not allow them to access bank facilities, so first look inside yourself and see who is the culprit.
