The excitement of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started from March 28. In IPL, the rule of the batsmen is usually seen and a lot of fours and sixes are hit. Let us know the names of those top batsmen who hit the most sixes in a season.
Chris Gayle: Chris Gayle holds the record for hitting most sixes in a single season of IPL. Gayle hit 59 sixes while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2012. Gayle was also the highest run-scorer this season and scored 733 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 160.
Andre Russell: Andre Russell, who entertained the fans with his stormy batting in the Indian Premier League, is second in the list of batsmen who have hit most sixes in a single season of IPL. Russell had hit 52 sixes while playing for KKR in IPL 2019. Russell had scored 510 runs in 15 matches this season playing at a strike rate of 204.
Chris Gayle: Even in IPL 2013, Chris Gayle won everyone’s hearts with his explosive batting. Gayle had hit 51 sixes this season while playing in RCB jersey. Gayle scored 708 runs in IPL 2013 playing at a strike rate of 156.
Jos Buttler: The year 2022 was excellent with the bat for England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler. While playing for Rajasthan Royals, Butler had hit 45 sixes this season. In 17 matches, Butler had also scored 863 runs at a strike rate of 149, on the basis of which Rajasthan Royals team was successful in reaching the final.
Chris Gayle: Chris Gayle’s performance in IPL 2011 was unmatched. Gayle had hit 44 sixes this season while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Gayle had scored 608 runs in 12 matches played this year at a strike rate of 183, and he was also the highest run-scorer in the tournament.
