West Bengal Assembly Elections TMC Worker Arrested For Threatening Voters

Amid the political atmosphere ahead of the elections in West Bengal, the police have arrested a person associated with Trinamool Congress (TMC) on the basis of a viral video. The accused has been identified as Raju Mandal, who was allegedly threatening people not to vote in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

This case came to light from Baharampur assembly constituency, where a video of the accused went viral on social media. In the video, he was seen warning people, saying, “You cannot vote on lotus (BJP’s election symbol). If there is chaos on the voting day, there is no need to go to vote. I will send sweets to your home.”

In the video, the accused further said, “If you want us to win because TMC is for you 24/7, then those who support us will have to cast their vote. No vote should go waste this year. I am saying this clearly.”

In another part he also claims that the votes of every house will be monitored. She said, “We will see who is voting from each house. This time our cameras will be present. This time it will be live.” A woman is also seen in the video, who, under pressure from the accused, assures him that she will obey him.

After the matter came to light, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused. Officials say allegations of influencing the electoral process and intimidating voters are being investigated.
