‘Not only in austerity, but also in AI’: Assam CM’s wife hits back at Pawan Kheda
A new controversy has emerged in the politics of Assam, where Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma has completely rejected the allegations of Congress leader Pawan Kheda and warned of criminal action against him.
The controversy started when Pawan Khera claimed in a press conference that Riniki Bhuyan Sharma held three passports and owned two undeclared properties in Dubai, which were not mentioned in the Chief Minister’s election affidavit. These allegations are being considered a big political issue before the upcoming assembly elections.

Responding sharply to these allegations, Riniki Sharma posted on social media platform X calling them completely “fake”. He alleged that Kheda had tried to spread lies through “doctored documents”.
In his reply, he sarcastically wrote, “You are not only lacking in penance, but also in AI generation and photoshopping,” this comment was a sarcasm on Kheda’s 2022 statement in which he had talked about penance if he did not get the Rajya Sabha ticket.
Riniki Sharma further said that Kheda, being the spokesperson of a national party, should have checked the facts. She clarified that now she will take the legal route. “I will now let the law take its course. Criminal cases are being registered. Further discussion will take place in the court,” she said.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife have been facing many allegations, such as land grabbing, stealing temple donations, grabbing government subsidies etc.
But the documents that we are placing before you today are related to outside India.

Meanwhile, Congress has raised the issue linking its allegations to election transparency, while the Chief Minister’s family has rejected it outright and termed it a political conspiracy. Ahead of the upcoming elections, this controversy now seems to be intensifying the political conflict, where both the parties have come face to face and the matter seems to be reaching a legal battle.
