Iran’s conditions fixed on ceasefire, no talks through threats!
Iran has made its position and demands clear on recent ceasefire proposals. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai said Tehran had prepared the conditions based on its national interests.
At a media briefing, Baghai clarified that “negotiations with ultimatums and threats of war crimes are incompatible with each other.” He said that Iran will not negotiate under any kind of pressure and its priority is to protect its strategic interests.
The spokesperson also said that Iran had rejected the so-called “15-point plan” previously presented by the US, because in its view it was “excessive and unbalanced.” Tehran has described these demands of the United States as against its interests.
“Iran does not hesitate to clearly put forward its legitimate rights and demands. This should not be seen as a sign of any softness or compromise, but rather reflects its confidence in its stance,” Baghai said.
Iran strongly condemned Donald Trump’s threats to attack its infrastructure like power plants and bridges. Baghai called it a “war crime.” “Such threats are against international law. It is wrong to target a country’s basic infrastructure,” he said. Said in a warning tone that if any other country supports America and helps in such attacks, then it will also be held responsible.
In response to comments by US officials about increasing attacks on Iran, as well as discussing the talks, Baghai said the steps taken by the US over the past year have completely eroded its credibility towards diplomacy. He accused the US of betrayal and ignoring international norms.
