Isis Module Busted Plot To Plant Bomb In Toy Car Foiled
Monday (April 6) Delhi Police’s Special Cell and Maharashtra ATS, in a joint action, busted a major terrorist module and detained two suspects. The arrested accused have been identified as Mossab Ahmed alias Kalam and Mohammad Hamad. This action was taken in Kurla and Khadawali areas of Mumbai.
According to the investigating agencies, both the accused were associated with a highly radicalized module inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS) and were planning the attack by planting explosives in remote-controlled toy cars. During the search, objectionable literature, suspicious chats and electronic devices were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation has also revealed that the accused were preparing Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Investigation has revealed that these accused were associated with networks like ‘Soldiers of Jihad’ and ‘Mission Khilafat’ active on social media. Besides, his relations have also come to light with Abu Hufaiza, a terrorist associated with Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), who attracts youth towards radicalism through platforms like Telegram.
A senior police officer said, “We received information that some youths from Kurla, Shivaji Nagar and Govandi were in touch with banned terrorist organizations. Following this, as per legal procedure, raids were conducted at three locations. The suspects were interrogated and their mobile phones and other electronic devices were seized.”

Security agencies have also found that some minors in Mumbai have also come under the influence of fundamentalist propaganda. Several other suspects have been kept under surveillance and investigation into the expansion of this network is ongoing. According to officials, the priority at present is to identify the handlers of this module and stop possible sleeper cell activities.
Earlier, on April 5, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had also arrested an accused named Rizwan Ahmed from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, who was associated with the network of terrorist organization Islamic State since 2015. He was first lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail and later in Tihar Jail. Investigation has also revealed that he was recruited into this network while he was in jail.
After his release, he tried to make himself look normal by opening a fast-food shop, but agencies suspect that he was active in attracting youth towards terrorist activities.
It is noteworthy that in recent times, modules related to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other terrorist organizations are continuously being busted. From this it is clear that the security agencies are constantly alert and active to root out the terrorist network in the country.
