‘I am thankful that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in our team’: Ravi Bishnoi
In the exciting match played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Friday (April 10) in IPL 2026, Vaibhav Suryavanshi entertained the audience with his explosive batting (78 runs on 26 balls). Thanks to Suryavanshi’s innings, RR won by 6 wickets. After the match, RR’s star spinner Ravi Bishnoi said that we are thankful that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in our team.
While talking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Center Live’, Ravi Bishnoi and Jiostar expert Harbhajan Singh talked about the team atmosphere, changes in the team this year and Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s form.
Ravi Bishnoi said, “We are really happy because we have won four out of four matches and are table-toppers. Hopefully, we will continue to play the cricket we are playing. We are playing good cricket and performing well as a team. It is not that one or two players are performing well. The kind of start we are getting with the bat, we will keep finishing the matches quickly. Winning always makes a difference in the atmosphere of the team. It is very positive.” Most of us are in the same age group, so we understand each other very well, and I think that’s making a big difference to this team.”
On his bowling, Ravi said, “Technically, I have made a small change. I used to start a little away from the umpire, due to which I was bowling with a normal jump. I don’t have much idea about using the crease, but I have worked on my USP, which is to jump-start from outside in the run-up. As far as my action is concerned, my non-bowling hand gets stuck. I tried to improve it, but “That’s still happening. Last year, I was bowling with a very heavy front foot. So, those are two or three little technical things I’ve worked on. It’s not as clear as I’d like, some things still seem to be missing, but hopefully it will get better as I go.”
On Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s nets practice, he said, “He targets each one of us in the nets. I keep saying in the dressing room that I am really thankful that he is in our team. It doesn’t matter if I get hit in the nets. When he took a single off the first ball of Krunal Bhai, we all couldn’t believe it because usually he attacks the left-arm spinners from the first ball itself. But it’s amazing, the way he is hitting this ball. The time he is batting is second to none.”
Bishnoi said, “This is Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s time. Whenever I see him, I am happy that we are not playing anymore. He is a tremendous batsman. What a bat speed. He attacks initially, but when needed, he also has the game to take singles and doubles and rotate the strike. Amazing talent. He plays perfect cricketing shots. His arm extension while driving takes him to mid-wicket, behind square, And also helps in playing in front of the wicket.”
“You can’t call him a slugger. Sluggers score sometimes, and wherever he goes, he is scoring. Everyone saw it recently in the Under-19 World Cup. We saw it against Bumrah. He hit it for a six on the first ball, but the next ball he just defended it. It’s unbelievable for a 15-year-old to have such talent,” Ravi said.
Ravi Bishnoi’s performance has also been excellent. He is the Orange Cap holder with 9 wickets in 4 matches.
