Delhi Capitals Gave A Big Update On Lungi Engidis Injury
Delhi Capitals has given a big update regarding Lungi Ngidi’s injury. Ngidi suffered a serious head injury while trying to take a catch while playing against Punjab Kings in the 35th match of IPL 2026, after which he was taken straight from the field to the hospital.

Giving an update on Lungi Ngidi on their social media account ‘X’, Delhi Capitals wrote, “Ngidi’s condition is stable and he will be released from the hospital soon.” Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) also tweeted wishing Ngidi a speedy recovery.

Delhi Police took Lungi Ngidi from the field to the hospital in just 11 minutes. Delhi Police said that as soon as they received information about the medical emergency, they took action without any delay. Ngidi was shifted from the field to BLK Max Specialty Hospital in Rajendra Nagar. ACP Traffic Sanjay Singh spoke to the control room and directed to create a green corridor without any interruption, due to which Ngidi could reach the hospital within just a few minutes.

Actually, during the innings of Punjab Kings, Lungi Ngidi jumped in the air in an attempt to catch a catch, but during this his body balance got badly disturbed and he fell down on his head. Ngidi suffered serious injuries to his head and neck after falling to the ground.
After this, he was laid on a stretcher and immediately taken to the hospital via ambulance. Delhi Capitals clearly missed Ngidi in the match. Punjab Kings achieved the target of 265 runs given by Delhi Capitals by losing 4 wickets in 18.5 overs. This was the biggest run chase in IPL history.
