Work perspective changed with time and experience, said Sai Tamhankar

In the world of film and entertainment, the thinking, choice and way of looking at the work of artists keeps changing. Many actors play all kinds of characters in the beginning of their career, but gradually with increasing experience they start understanding what kind of work they have to do and what kind of identity they have to create among the audience. Actress Sai Tamhankar has spoken openly to IANS on this subject.

These days she is in the news for her new series ‘Matka King’, in which she is seen in the role of Barkha. When IANS asked Sai Tamhankar whether there was a turning point in her career when she decided that she would no longer do certain types of characters?

Sai has always played different and challenging characters. She has caught people’s attention with her acting in films like ‘Hunterer’, ‘Love Sonia’, ‘Mimi’, ‘India Lockdown’ and ‘Ground Zero’. His characters in these films have been quite different. Sai Tamhankar has also caught the attention of the audience with her dialogue delivery in the web series Bindiya Ke Bahubali.

Answering this question, Sai said, “There has been no such big turning point in my life. This change comes gradually with experience. When an actor works in this industry for a long time, he starts understanding his own identity. He starts realizing what kind of work he likes to do and what kind of characters he wants people to remember him for.”

The actress said, “This whole process goes on continuously. A person learns with time and his thinking also keeps changing. Now perhaps I have got more clarity about my work and my choices than before. That is why people are noticing a change in my work. However, I have not made any strict rules for myself as to which character I will do and which one I will not.”

Sai Tamhankar said, “My choices and thinking have changed naturally with time. Experience, continuous work process and wisdom gained in life have changed my perspective. Now I am more attracted towards different types of stories and characters than before. This change has not come under any pressure, but has come on its own.”

Before coming into the world of acting, Sai Tamhankar was also very active in sports. She has been a state-level Kabaddi player and has also earned an Orange Belt in Karate. He started his career in the world of acting by playing small and supporting characters in Marathi TV serials. Gradually, on the basis of his hard work, he made a special identity in the world of films and web series.
