Not only healthy diet but also physical activity is important for the development of children!

Good food alone is not enough for the proper development of children. Along with that, daily physical activity is also equally important. If these two things go together, only then the child is able to grow physically and mentally.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development posted on social media X that in today’s lifestyle, children are spending most of their time in front of mobile, TV or tablet. Earlier children used to run, jump, play cricket or any outdoor game in the playground. But now sports have reduced and screen time has increased. For this reason, obesity, laziness and many other health problems are increasing rapidly in children.

Doctors also say that children should do at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. This can include running, cycling, jumping rope, yoga or any outdoor game. This makes the body strong, bones and muscles develop properly and the child remains active.

Not only exercise, children’s diet is also very important. Nowadays many children are getting attracted towards junk food like chips, burgers, pizza, cold drinks, chocolates and packet snacks. These things taste good, but are harmful for health. Consuming such food continuously leads to obesity and deficiency of essential nutrients in the body.

Instead, children should be given fresh and balanced home-made food. The diet should include seasonal fruits, green vegetables, pulses, millets, milk and dry fruits. All these things provide essential vitamins, minerals and energy to the children’s body, due to which they develop properly.

Nowadays, awareness campaigns like ‘Sugar and Oil Board’ are also being run in some schools, so that children and their parents can understand how harmful food containing too much sugar and too much oil can be. Its objective is to inculcate the habit of healthy lifestyle in children from a young age.
