Only a few days are left for Yoga Day. In such a situation, the ministry, while giving information about yogasanas that provide relief from sinus, advises that chronic sinus pressure should not be allowed to become a daily problem. When breathing works properly, the whole life feels different and better. Yoga is not just the name of making the body flexible, but it is the science of flow of breath, flow of energy and flow of life. With regular yoga practice, the body balances itself and heals naturally. This brings lightness and clarity back into everyday life.

The ministry has recommended some easy and effective yoga asanas for people suffering from sinus problems. These include Bhramari Pranayam, Nadi Shodhan Pranayam, Tadasana, Gomukhasana, Jalneti along with Kapalbhati.

Bhramari Pranayam:- In this exercise, by closing the eyes and concentrating between the eyebrows, a sound like ‘Om’ is made. This provides relief to the nerves connected to the head and nose.

Nadi Shodhana Pranayama:- The process of breathing in through one nostril and out through the other. It balances both the nerves and removes respiratory obstruction.

Tadasana: – A simple standing body stretching asana, which improves posture and helps in proper breathing.

Gomukhasana:- A sitting posture with legs folded in a special way, which opens the chest and shoulders.

Jalneti: – The process of cleaning the nose with salt water, which clears the root of the sinus.

Kapalbhati:- Rapid exhalation pranayama, which cleans the lungs and sinus cavity.

Doing these exercises regularly can also reduce chronic sinus problems. These remove nasal blockage, heaviness in the head goes away and breathing becomes easier.
