PM Modi, Norway diplomats are building modern India with culture and tradition!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is building an India that modernizes rapidly while remaining connected to the roots of its culture and civilization, and not completely adopting the Western model. Norwegian diplomat Eric Solheim said this on Wednesday.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Solheim, who was also Norway’s former climate and environment minister, said that PM Modi envisions an India that moves forward rapidly, but remains connected to its tradition and heritage, and does not copy the West.

“Prime Minister Modi wants to modernize India very rapidly, but he does not want to westernize the country. He wants the great India of the future to be based on its history and heritage,” he said.

Solheim said that the Western media often shows PM Modi in a negative light because they do not properly understand the role of culture and religion in Indian society.

He said that western institutions view religion and culture with suspicion, whereas in India these things are the strength and identity of the people.

He said that this is PM Modi’s way of building the future of India on its historical and cultural roots, which are largely linked to Hinduism.

According to Solheim, this model shows a different path of development, in which a balance between modernity and tradition is maintained.

While talking about politics, he avoided commenting on opposition leaders and said the focus should be on the election results.

He cited the BJP’s performance in states like West Bengal and Assam, and also called the rise of actor-turned-politician Vijay in Tamil Nadu as a significant development.

Talking about India’s global position, Solheim said that the country has adopted the path of peaceful development most of the time. Giving the example of a small conflict with Pakistan, he said that it was quickly defused.

He said that India has not been in any major war, there was only a small conflict with Pakistan, which Prime Minister Modi ended within a few days. This is an example from which other countries can learn.
