13 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history, did this feat in Vijay Hazare Trophy
India's young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been in the limelight since becoming a millionaire in the IPL mega auction and he is breaking records after records in domestic cricket. Now this 13 year old player has made a big record in his name in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Vaibhav has become the youngest Indian player to play List-A cricket.
13-year-old Suryavanshi achieved the feat during the Bihar vs Madhya Pradesh Group E match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 at the Nexgen Cricket Ground in Hyderabad on Saturday, December 21. At the age of 13 years and 269 days, Suryavanshi broke the record of Ali Akbar, who made his List A debut at the age of 14 years and 51 days for Vidarbha during the 1999/2000 season.
He is already the youngest Indian to make his Ranji Trophy debut and play at the Under-19 level. However, Suryavanshi's List A debut was not memorable as he got out on the second ball of Aryan Pandey after hitting a four on the first ball of his innings. Bihar team, which came to bat first, was bundled out for 196 runs in 46.4 overs, in which Bipin Saurabh (50 runs on 54 balls) and captain Saqibul Ghani (48 runs on 62 balls) were the top scorers.
In reply, Madhya Pradesh chased the target easily in 25.1 overs. Harsh Gawli played a brilliant match-winning inning of 83 runs in 63 balls. As a result, Madhya Pradesh won the match by six wickets and Suryavanshi's List-A career did not get off to a good start. Apart from this, Vaibhav has also become the youngest player to be sold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. This 13-year-old player has been bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore, where he will play under the guidance of veteran Indian cricketer and head coach Rahul Dravid.
