14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi will leave Virat Kohli behind, will aim for a new record in the U-19 World Cup

Tezzbuzz Desk- Team India’s first match in the Under-19 World Cup 2026, starting from January 15, will be against USA. In this tournament, once again all eyes are on 14 year old young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The special thing is that if Vaibhav scores just 6 runs in this match, he will break a long standing record of Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli played 28 matches in Youth ODI in Under-19, in which he scored 978 runs in 25 innings, the average was 46.57. At the same time, Vaibhav has scored 973 runs in 18 matches so far, with an average of 54.05. That means after scoring just 6 runs, Vaibhav will overtake Kohli and touch the figure of fastest runs in Under-19 Youth ODI.

The name of the Indian batsman who scored the most runs in Under-19 Youth ODI is Vijay Jol. He played 36 matches in 2012–2014 and scored 1404 runs, with an average of 42.54 and strike rate of 73.12.

Whenever Vaibhav Suryavanshi comes on the field, his every innings is like making a record. His game has indicated that soon he may leave behind not only Virat Kohli but also Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The in-form Vaibhav has to score around 400 runs, and he can easily leave his senior players behind.
