Tadasana will improve posture, increase stability and balance, Ministry of AYUSH explains the benefits!
Tadasana is also known as ‘Mountain Pose’. This asana is very useful in improving body structure, strengthening posture, increasing stability and laying a strong foundation for overall physical balance. It looks simple but this basic yoga asana is effective in improving reflexes, spine and better coordination of various body parts.
According to experts, improving posture, building stability and supporting spinal alignment can start with a simple standing pose. In today’s busy lifestyle, the problem of wrong posture has become common due to working on computer or mobile for long hours. Due to this, problems like back pain, neck pain and fatigue are increasing. In such a situation, regular practice of Tadasana can provide relief from these problems.
To practice Tadasana, first of all stand straight. After this, keep both the legs together and distribute the weight equally on both the legs. Then, keeping the knees straight, pull the thighs slightly inwards, keep the stomach slightly inwards and move the chest forward and keep the shoulders back and down so that the spine remains straight.
The practice of Tadasana provides many benefits to both body and mind. It keeps the spine strong and straight, reduces stiffness in the shoulders and neck, increases balance and stability of the body. Increases self-confidence and concentrates the mind and circulates energy throughout the body.
The Ministry of AYUSH appeals to people of all ages, especially youth and office goers, to include Tadasana in their daily routine. This asana can be done on an empty stomach in the morning or in the evening for 5-10 minutes. In the beginning, practice can also be done with the support of the wall.
