Maoist leader and his wife surrender before Telangana Police!

The banned CPI (Maoist) has suffered another blow. On Tuesday, its central committee member Pasunuri Narahari and his wife Medara Dannamma surrendered before the Telangana Police.

Director General of Police CV Anand presented the underground senior leaders of the Maoist organization before the media.

Pasunuri Narahari alias Vishwanath alias Salai Da is the secretary of the Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee (BJAC), while Danamma alias Lata alias Poonam alias Joba is the State Committee Member (SCM).

The DGP said that with his surrender, the last remaining eastern regional bureau of CPI (Maoist) is on the verge of collapse.

Narahari, 64, a native of Hanumakonda district of Telangana, had joined the Radical Students Union (RSU) while studying in the first year of his degree course. In 1988, he married Dannamma from Guntur district.

According to the police, in 1982, on the influence and insistence of the then CPI (ML) People’s War Andhra Pradesh State Committee Secretary, late Puli Anjaiah, he formally joined the CPI (ML) People’s War and became part of the Kunta Dalam active in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.

In 2006, he was promoted to the rank of State Committee Member (SCM) and joined the Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee (BJSAC) as an SZC member, where he remained until 2010.

He served as the head of a seven-member technical department team under BJSAC till 2014.

In 2014, he was transferred to Bihar State Committee, where he served as in-charge of Gaya district organization till 2017.

In 2017, he was promoted to the position of Central Committee Member under the Eastern Regional Bureau (ERB).

Police said he had extensive expertise in the manufacture and maintenance of mortars, rockets, rocket-propelled grenades, hand grenades and booby traps.

He also trained Maoist cadres in weapons production, repair and maintenance, as well as held technical and organizational responsibilities at senior levels.
