Hamas’s New Military Chief Mohammed Odeh Was Killed Netanyahu Said We Will Destroy Everyone
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has claimed to have killed Mohammed Odeh, the new military chief of Hamas in Gaza, in an airstrike. According to Israel, Odeh was one of the key planners of the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and was recently made the new head of Hamas’s military wing.
This military operation was conducted on the instructions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed on social media platform X that Odeh was targeted in Gaza.
According to Israel, Mohammed Odeh was the chief of Hamas’s intelligence staff during the October 7 attack. Many Israeli civilians and soldiers were killed in that attack while a large number of people were also abducted. The IDF alleges that Odeh was directly involved in planning these attacks and kidnappings.
Israel reported that Odeh was appointed the new head of Hamas’s military wing about a week ago. He replaced Azzedine al-Haddad, who was killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza two weeks ago.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also issued a statement on social media, saying, “We have now attacked Muhammad Odeh – the leader of Hamas’s military wing and one of the planners of the October 7 massacre. We will reach out to all of them.”
Israel has clearly indicated that all those involved in the October 7 attack will be targeted. For the past several months, Israel has been waging a continuous campaign against top Hamas commanders in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel has also intensified its military attacks in southern Lebanon. According to media reports, the Israeli army conducted airstrikes in many areas including Tire and Marjayoun districts. Reports indicate heavy bombardment in areas such as Burj Rahal, Sharifah, As-Sawana and Qabrikha.
According to Al Jazeera report, 31 people were killed and more than 40 people were injured in Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.
These attacks are taking place at a time when Israel has indicated to further intensify its action against the Iran-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah. After the increase in drone attacks in recent times, there were indications of support from the US for a major military operation.
On Sunday, Netanyahu instructed the army to continue aggressive action against Hezbollah.
“We are waging a war with Hezbollah. In recent weeks alone, our brave fighters have eliminated more than 600 terrorists. But we are not taking our foot off the gas. On the contrary, I have instructed them to press the pedal even harder,” Netanyahu said in a video statement.
