Question asked last year, Kohli became very emotional on RCB title!

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) performed brilliantly and won the title of ‘IPL- 2026’. Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, RCB defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets in the final match. Virat Kohli was the hero of RCB’s victory in the title match. Kohli wrote an emotional post on his social media after RCB successfully defended the title.

Kohli wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “We asked ourselves a question last year, can we win the title twice in a row? And we did it again.”

Kohli’s bat roared a lot in the title match. Virat along with Venkatesh Iyer gave RCB a great start against Gujarat Titans. Both of them added 62 runs in just 27 balls for the first wicket. Kohli appeared in excellent form and scored the fastest half-century of his IPL career. Virat completed his fifty runs in just 25 balls.

Facing 42 balls, Kohli scored unbeaten 75 runs at a strike rate of 178. In this innings, Virat hit 9 fours and 3 sixes. Whereas, Tim David contributed 24 runs in 17 balls.

Earlier, RCB bowlers performed brilliantly and restricted Gujarat Titans to a score of 155 runs. From GT side, only Washington Sundar seemed to be in rhythm to some extent and he played a brilliant inning of 50 runs facing 37 balls.

For RCB, Rasikh Salam took 3 big wickets while conceding only 27 runs in his 4 over spell, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets for 29 runs. Josh Hazlewood was also successful in taking 2 wickets. RCB has become only the third team in IPL history to defend the title.

Before RCB, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have achieved this feat. Kohli was the highest run-scorer for RCB in IPL 2026. He scored 675 runs in 16 matches playing at a strike rate of 165.
