Describing her father, Karishma said, “He is very careful when it comes to spending money. He spends every expense thoughtfully and does not like to spend money on anything unnecessary.”
After listening to his daughter, Randhir Kapoor also presented his clarification. He said, “My philosophy is only about ‘value for money’. I believe that money should be spent on anything only when it is necessary.”
After this, Karishma narrated an interesting anecdote related to her father’s shopping. He told, “When we all used to go to London for holidays, everyone was very excited about shopping. Everyone was busy buying new clothes, shoes and other items. But Papa’s style was completely different from everyone else.”
Karishma further said, “When I used to ask Papa what he had bought while shopping, he would proudly tell me that I had bought two pairs of socks. Many times I would send Papa again for shopping, so that he could buy some more things for himself. But when he would come back, he would have only two pairs of socks and two handkerchiefs.”
Clarifying on this, Randhir Kapoor said, “What else does a man need? A few pairs of socks, a few handkerchiefs, a few ties, a couple of shirts and a couple of pants are enough.”
