Five Air Force Personnel Martyred In An 32 Aircraft Crash
An AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force became the victim of a horrific accident on Saturday (June 13) morning in Jorhat, Assam. According to the information, the plane crashed while landing at Jorhat Air Force Station and caught fire. After this, five Indian Air Force soldiers were martyred in this accident.
The accident occurred while attempting to land a twin-engine turboprop aircraft at Jorhat airport in Assam on Saturday (June 13). The Indian Air Force said in a statement that it is deeply saddened by the death of five soldiers in the AN-32 accident in Jorhat, Assam. “Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” the statement said.
The Indian Air Force deeply regrets the loss of five personnel in the An-32 accident at Jorhat, Assam.

Orders have been given to constitute a court of inquiry to find out the reasons for the accident at Jorhat Air Force Station. Videos and pictures emerging from the scene show heavy damage to the plane. The debris of the aircraft was scattered in different parts of the airbase. The security forces took control of the entire area and started rescue, relief and investigation operations.
AN-32 is considered one of the most important transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force. Developed keeping in mind Indian requirements, this twin-engine turboprop aircraft is known as the “workhorse” of the Air Force. There are about 100 such aircraft in the Indian Air Force fleet. This aircraft is considered particularly useful to operate effectively even in high altitude areas and hot climates. The AN-32 aircraft can carry about 7.5 tons of cargo, 50 passengers or 42 paratroopers at a time. It is used extensively to deliver logistics and supplies to inaccessible areas.
