Kalyan Banerjee needs ‘Kalyan’, not TMC: Riju Dutta!

Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Riju Dutta expressed his opinion regarding the recent controversies within the party. Responding to the cases of Kalyan Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, Madan Mitra and others, he said that the law should be allowed to take its course and the truth will come out only after investigation.

On the recent differences between Kalyan Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, Riju Dutta told IANS that it is a good thing that an atmosphere of reconciliation is visible between the two leaders. A day ago, Abhishek Banerjee had called Kalyan Banerjee like a father, and now Kalyan Banerjee has also shown a big heart and forgiven him like a son.

This is an internal matter of Trinamool Congress, but Kalyan Banerjee does not need TMC, rather TMC needs Kalyan Banerjee. In the current circumstances, Abhishek Banerjee may need big and experienced lawyers, and at such times, the role of Kalyan Banerjee can be important.

Regarding the allegations against Abhishek Banerjee and his personal assistant Sumit Roy, Riju Dutta said that according to his information, there are many allegations against Sumit Roy and Abhishek Banerjee. He claimed that ED, CBI and CID cases were pending against him.

He has received information that an FIR has also been registered in Bishnupur police station in the alleged corruption case of Rs 250 crore related to Cyclone Amphan relief work, in which the name of Abhishek Banerjee is also said to be included.

On the ED raid at the house of TMC MLA Madan Mitra in connection with the municipal recruitment scam, Riju Dutta also said that if the ED has a complaint and during the investigation it has found some evidence, then the agency has full right to investigate.

At present, the investigation is going on and if Madan Mitra is innocent, then there is no need to worry. The further situation will be clear on the basis of whatever facts emerge after investigation. If no evidence is found against him in the court, he will be honorably acquitted.

On the issue of TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh filing a complaint against Kalyan Banerjee before the Lok Sabha Speaker, Riju Dutta said that this is a matter between the two MPs. If Kakoli Ghosh has any concrete evidence then it is his right to complain. At the same time, if the complaint is found true then Kalyan Banerjee will also present his side. The truth will come out through the legal process.

Riju Dutta also supported the action of the investigating agencies in the case of MLA’s signature being allegedly forged and sent to the Speaker. He said that if Kunal Ghosh and Abhishek Banerjee have been called for questioning, they should cooperate in the investigation. This is a very serious matter because it involves alleged forgery of signatures of MLAs.

Whatever necessary steps are taken by the investigating agency to bring out the truth, those who have been summoned will have to cooperate in the investigation as per law, otherwise legal action can be taken against them.
